JLGB groups are situated throughout the UK, with Junior groups for ages 8-11 years and Senior groups for ages 11-18 years. There are five groups in Manchester: Cheadle Seniors and Cheadle Juniors meet at North Cheshire Jewish Primary School, Whitefield Seniors meet at Whitefield Synagogue, Whitefield Juniors meet at Bury & Whitefield School and Manchester Band meet at King David Junior School. The JLGB provides numerous activities and is the only exclusively Jewish Operating Authority for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Through its national volunteering programme the JLGB offers volunteering opportunities and awards to almost every Jewish primary and secondary school in the UK. JLGB has been awarded Approved National Open College Network Centre status in accordance with their qualification and credit framework standards. By linking its training with NOCN, the JLGB is the first Jewish National Voluntary Youth Organisation to offer nationally-accredited training qualifications to its members. Junior Stage 80 Junior Stage 80 is a stage group based in South Manchester for year 6 children upwards. We put on a musical show at the Waterside Theatre, Sale in December each year attracting large audiences. The children receive professional direction in acting, music and choreography.
